Chinese / Japanese Bilingual UI/UX Designer
Ziba Tokyo is looking for a Chinese / Japanese (or Chinese / English) bilingual UI/UX Freelance Designer for an upcoming software development project for a major Chinese mobile phone developer.
We are a global innovation and design consultancy headquartered in Portland, Oregon USA. Founded in 1984, Ziba works closely with its clients to harness the power of empathy and the role that brands play in the delivery of meaningful and authentic customer experiences.
The scope of this project is to design and deliver an updated in game UI/UX that is sensitive to the needs of mobile gamers. You will be responsible for designing and creating visual deliverables that accurately communicate the team’s design solutions to the client while working as a conduit between our team and the client in both Chinese and Japanese. Deliverables range from wireframes and looks like prototypes to working prototypes so an ability to code and develop software is necessary.
Relevant Experience and Mindset:
Complete Fluency in both Chinese and Japanese, with the ability to switch between both languages during client meetings and internally with teams (candidates completely fluent in Chinese and English will also be considered).
3–5 years interaction design experience across a variety of digital media.
Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in Interaction Design, New Media, HCI, or other relevant degree.
Prototyping: You are ready to learn from failure, embrace an iterative process, and you understand that success comes sooner with trial and error. You have hands-on experience in creating low and high fidelity prototypes, at speed.
Systems thinking: You love complex questions and use your work to communicate that complexity in simple ways.
Team skills: You work best in a participatory, team-based environment. You support and inspire teams through collaboration as well as direction, vision, and planning of deliverables.
Communication: You have strong verbal and visual presentation skills in both Japanese and Chinese, as well as an articulate point of view about design. You understand the value of design within a business context.
Openness: Designers need to be flexible and open-minded. You are optimistic, generative, and open to new ideas and ways of working.
